Body Types

To dress best, we first need to find out our body type. It's like a template to start our styling with so that we can visualize or predict what suits us best and what does not. So here are the common body types. Namely Apple, Pear, Hourglass, Rectangle AND one more that is not in this image, the Inverted Triangle.


Apple Body Type
  • Mostly round all over
  • Usually has a wider tummy area
Pear Body Type
  • Typically smaller at the bust/chest
  • Wider hips/butt/thighs as compared to the top part of the body
Hourglass Body Type
  • Proportionate shoulders and hips
  • Usually has a cinched waistline
Rectangle Body Type
  • Proportionate shoulders, waist and hips
  • Similar to hourglass but lack of waist definition
Inverted Triangle Body Type
  • Typically smaller at the hips/butt/thighs
  • Heavy bust/chest as compared to the lower part of the body

So take off those clothes now and stand in front of that mirror. You'll know just what body type you are ;)
