Plus Size Jean Trends

This time round I shall blog about jeans; the most versatile clothing ever invented!(:

Jeans can be the statement piece of your entire outfit. However, choosing a great pair of jeans is very important.  Firstly, you will need to find a pair of jeans that would flatter your body type. *You may refer to my blog post here(:*

With that in mind, now let's experiment~ ;)

So here's the latest plus size jean trends for 2012.

Bold Shades

Spring and summer is the perfect time to wear bold shades because it brings fun and excitement to your outfit.  Plus size jeans in bold shades like red, green, purple, electric blue, fuchsia pink are some of the hottest colors for this season. You may choose to wear a top with a subtle shade to balance out the look.  You can also opt for a color block look by wearing an equally bright top in clashing colours.

Pastel Colours

Pastel shades are among the hottest colors for this year.  Take inspiration from Louis Vuitton and Jil Sander's colour palette.  Mint, cream, lemon, baby pink, baby blue are just few of the colors you can wear.  Plus size jeans in these shades can be paired with frilly and romantic tops. Me like~

Floral Prints

Floral prints are great for spring and summer.  Floral prints are very feminine and fun to wear.  Spice up your jeans with some interesting floral prints in various designs.  Pair your floral printed jeans with a chic top. Super-feminine, uber chic!

Skinny Jeans

Many plus size women stir away from wearing skinny jeans because it only highlights their problem area. However, wearing skinny jeans with a straight leg and ankle length style does work well on plus size women.  This style gives the illusion of a streamlined silhoutte. What is there not to love about it?(:

Tailored Shorts

Spring/Summer is the perfect time for snazzing up a pair of shorts! But sadly, plus size women tend to shy away from wearing shorts because we are simply too conscious about revealing our luscious thighs and/or annoying cellulites. Hehehe. Or maybe we have not found any shorts in store yet that fits us comfortably. Nonetheless, I believe tailored shorts are just as awesome on plus size women as it is on the runway models.

So here's why you should show off those beautiful legs you've been hiding far too long(:

For spring 2012 plus size women SHOULD wear tailored shorts. The good thing about this style is its versatility. We usually see tailored shorts paired with blazer or suits. However, it can be worn even simply with a pair of shirt. Plus size women can and should embrace tailored shorts because of its streamlined design that gives the illusion of shapely/proportionate outline and also because it comes in various fabrics that suits different occasions.  Tailored shorts are flirty, chic and elegant all at the same time. ^.^  You can wear tailored shorts from day to night and therefore it should be a wardrobe staple for all plus size women.

Tailored shorts can be paired with any top that complements your body type.  For spring 2012 tailored shorts are more robust and luxurious compared to the past season short trends.  The construction is more unique and different fabrics like silk, suede and leather are used.  The smart cuts are perfect for plus size women as mentioned; it is visually-enhancing.  There are countless of styles that you can experiment with your tailored shorts, just leave it up to your imagination!

Plus size women can wear tailored shorts with a mid to high waist cut.  This cut can add an illusion of longer legs.  You can pair the high waist tailored shorts with a classy chiffon top, satin blouse and blazers to evoke a chic, classy and domineering look.

A Bermuda tailored shorts is also another variation to this trend.  It has a longer hemline which is perfect for plus size women.  It’s a great clothing item for sunny SIngapore because it’s laidback and comfortable. Choose Bermuda tailored shorts with a loud color and pair it with feminine tops for a great contrast.

That's all for the mini update. Hope you liked the post! xoxo

Featured on Seventeen Magazine June issue

Greetings readers, it's been tooo long! I've been pretty busy with things especially so because I'm launching a plus size label really soon. Hurray~ ;D

Now I'm awaiting for the photoshoot so that I can show you the teaser and heck, I'm soo excited because I simply love the clothes so bloody much! Hahaha.

Okay so first things first, I wanna share with you about my wonderful incident a couple of days ago. I was pleasantly surprised when I flipped the first few pages of Seventeen Magazine June issue and saw that my letter was the four featured letters of this mth! ;D Well, too bad it isn't the winning letter but who cares rite..? I mean to be the top 4 letters picked out of the thousands they have received thus far, that's beyond wonderful..And I am truly honoured.

Well what inspired me to email them is that I believe that plus size women are under-served. And that is sad because we are also into fashion just like any other regular body size women out there. But because we have some lovin' here and there we are restricted to just eye-pleasers we see gracing the magazines or runways. I mean, come on, give us a break. It's about time we have probably a plus-size magazine? Or a plus-size pageant held annually? Or maybe more plus size fashion shows or plus size models? We seriously need to do something about it.

So here's what I thought. Talk is cheap. Right? So I'm gonna start the ball rolling, who knows, it might just be what the industry needs to kickstart an evolution. So I launched my plus size fashion blog and now I am gonna launch my plus size label too. As you can probably tell, plus size clothes are expensive (most of the time), ranging from $50 onwards (well that's expensive to me at least). If it's cheaper, it's probably of an inferior quality or some ugly-looking piece of cloth. Yeah, reality that is. So I figured what we needed is a clothing label that is affordable yet fashionable and OF COURSE, comes in plus sizes. I think Asians especially need to produce more plus size label that has all 3 aspects that I just mentioned.

So yeah, I'm not gonna talk so much about the label, you guys just have to wait and see. For now I hope you lovely readers would continue to stay tuned to my blog for more sneak peeks and awesome news. Have a brilliant day! xoxo
